I worked as a Full Stack Development Engineer at Lektor Aero, a company dedicated to providing a modernized learning platform for Air Traffic Control (ATC) education. I played a major part in the design of a new admin panel that enables course teachers to create exercises for their students. My work involved TypeScript, Svelte, and CSS for the frontend as well as the development of backend APIs in Next.js and managing PostgreSQL databases via Prisma ORM.
I was heavily involved in improving the game part of the exercises, which were written in PixiJS for the radar control and ThreeJS for tower exercises. I enhanced the visuals for the radar games by adding more interactive elements to make them feel more fun to play, increasing student retention. For the tower exercises, I made the environment more realistic for use in rating training by utilizing terrain generation and creating 3D models in Blender for signs and other props found in airport runways.
Other work included creating 2D assets in GIMP to design themed exercises for events Lektor's ATC platform would be present in, such as ECC Albena 2026.
Showcase
A proof of concept indicator to clearly convey to the student where they failed and why. The arrow indicator adapts to the kind of failure case present, whether it's a collision or they moved out of the airspace boundary.
A simple animation showcasing visual tweaks I made to add more life to the game, such as jet particles behind the planes and the stars popping in on the end game screen.
